Micil Earls Island Single Pot Still Whiskey 0.7 l
Micil Earls Island , Single Pot Still Whiskey, Vol.: 46%,
In 2016, Pádraic Ó'Griallas opened the first distillery in Galway in 100 years, after his great-great-great-grandfather built the family's first, illegal, distillery in Connemara. Micil Mac Chearra is also the namesake of the current Micil Distillery. They are now launching their first two whiskeys. These are still purchased whiskeys, but their own whiskey production has already begun.
Earl's Island is a fruity, spicy pot still Irish whiskey: 75.5% of the whiskey is triple-distilled Irish pot still whiskey, finished in 225-liter ex-Bordeaux red wine casks. The remaining 24.5% is also triple-distilled Irish pot still whiskey, finished in 125-liter American oak quarter casks that previously held peated whiskey. This whiskey pays homage to Galway's earlier distilleries and the long-established wine merchants who made the city "their city."
