The 2025 edition commemorates the 200th anniversary of the Midleton Distillery. For the first time in the history of the vintage series, Master Distiller Kevin O'Gorman composed the whiskey from six distinct styles of grain and single pot still distillate.

The three grain styles include a 22-year-old whiskey made from a mash of barley and malted barley, as well as a rare 21-year-old grain whiskey. A higher proportion of single pot still whiskey and the pronounced influence of first-fill American oak casks complement these long-matured components.

Tasting Notes:

• Nose: Sweet waves of caramelised apple, toffee fudge and vanilla unfold on the nose. Fresh garden mint and lavender gradually emerge, followed by cinnamon and nutmeg notes shaped by American oak. Pot still spice and sweet grain lend additional structure to the fruit and wood.
• Palate: On the palate, sweet honeycomb combines with soft fruit and delicate herbal notes. White pepper and a mild hint of chilli oil add spicy accents to citrus and orchard fruits. The sweetness then continues to build with dark sugar syrup, toffee, vanilla and sugar-glazed fruit.
• Finish: The finish is rich and lingering. The fruit gradually fades while oak and pot still spice remain present to the end.

Distillery/Bottler:

Irish Distillers was formed in 1966 through the merger of Jameson, Powers and Cork Distilleries. The New Midleton Distillery in County Cork began operating in 1975.

Since 1984, the responsible Master Distillers have selected particularly suitable whiskeys for the annual Midleton vintage series. The Midleton Distillery produced the grain and pot still distillates for the 2025 edition, and Kevin O'Gorman composed the blend from them. Irish Distillers is the company behind the branded bottling.
