A 22-month finish in a Refill European Oak Oloroso Sherry Hogshead defines this single-cask release. Distilled in 2007, the Miltonduff matured for 17 years in total. James Eadie bottled the whisky from cask #369685 in 2024. The refill cask had previously been used to mature whisky.

This export release comprises 199 bottles of 0.7 litres each. The whisky was bottled at cask strength of 57%, without chill filtration or added colouring. The bottle comes in a tube. The Oloroso finish adds spicy and nutty notes to the fruit and malt.

Tasting Notes:

• Nose: On the nose, honey and ripe cherries mingle with a soft malt note and a hint of vanilla. Cherry blossom and dried tropical fruit add floral and fruity accents.
• Palate: The palate brings juicy apricots and dark blackberries. Candied lime peel adds gentle acidity, while cinnamon and a hint of rosewater complement the full-bodied fruit.
• Finish: The finish is medium-long and creamy, with mocha and toasted almonds.

Distillery/Bottler:

Miltonduff was established in 1824 when a mill was converted into a licensed distillery. The Speyside distillery supplies an important malt for Ballantine’s. The whisky in this single-cask release was distilled at Miltonduff.

James Eadie takes its name from a Scottish brewer who founded a brewery in 1854. Today, the company is headed by his great-great-grandson Rupert Patrick. As an independent bottler, James Eadie focuses in part on single casks and cask finishes. For this Miltonduff, the company was responsible for the Oloroso finish and bottling.
