Special Features:

This twelve-year-old small-batch bottling is release number 60 in Signatory Vintage’s 100 Proof Edition. Distilled at Mortlach in 2013, the whisky matured in second-fill Oloroso sherry butts and was bottled in 2025 at 57.1%, without chill filtration or added colouring.

Its character combines dark berries and raisins with coffee, dark chocolate, malt and spicy oak. Mortlach’s robust, meaty style remains clearly recognisable.

Tasting Notes:

• Nose: Dark berries and raisins emerge first in the glass, while leather, earthy spices and coffee lend depth to the nose.
• Palate: The whisky is robust and spicy on the palate, with dried fruit, dark chocolate, malt and oak; its style is distinctly meaty.
• Finish: The long finish is warming, with sherry sweetness.

Distillery/Bottler:

Mortlach was founded in Dufftown in 1823. Its complex 2.81-fold distillation process and traditional worm-tub condensers contribute to the distillery’s dense, meaty character.

Signatory Vintage was founded in 1988 by Andrew Symington and his brother. Since 2007, the entire operation has been based at the Edradour Distillery site in Pitlochry. As an independent bottler, the company is known for its cask selection and transparent details about its individual releases.
