Myers's Original Dark brings together Jamaican rums made using two distillation methods: pot stills and continuous stills. Jamaican molasses is the sole raw material. After maturation in white oak casks, the rums are blended.

Bottled at 40% alcohol, this rum comes in a 1 litre bottle without gift packaging. It also works well in tropical cocktails such as Planter's Punch.

Tasting Notes:

• Nose: The nose reveals pronounced molasses, accompanied by hints of coffee, celery, allspice, hazelnut and toffee, with a subtle note of ripe pineapple.
• Palate: The opening is buttery. Sweet sugar cane, caramel, tobacco, leather, honey and dark chocolate follow, complemented by raisins and figs.
• Finish: Dark chocolate defines the finish, accompanied by brown sugar and smoke, while oak remains in the background.

Distillery/Bottler:

The history of Myers's began in 1879 with Fred L. Myers in Kingston, Jamaica. The family specialised in Jamaican rum and established the brand internationally. Its approach combines different distillates, cask maturation and subsequent blending.
