Neisson Zetwal Polaris
Special features: The Neisson Zetwal Polaris is a Rhum Agricole from the Neisson Distillery in Martinique. This bottling includes a blend of rums that were distilled between 2000 and 2013 and is presented in a wooden box. The rum is distilled directly from fresh sugarcane juice and has an alcohol content of 49.4%. It is produced in the Savalle distillation column and is not chill-filtered.
Tasting Notes:
- Nose: The nose reveals aromas of sun-ripened apricots, accompanied by subtle peppery spice, spicy ginger, and a scent of roses.
- Palate: The palate surprises with notes of floral honey and candied oranges, complemented by the bitter freshness of grapefruit as well as salt caramel and caramelized cane sugar.
- Finish: The finish is long-lasting and characterized by quince jelly, nectarines, and ripe mango.
Distillery/Bottler: The Neisson Distillery, founded in 1931, is the smallest distillery in Martinique and is one of the few that is still family-owned. It uses a copper Savalle distillation column from 1952 and distills its rum from fresh sugarcane juice. The Neisson Distillery is known for its high-quality Rhum Agricole products.
