The Yoichi Single Malt is distilled using traditional methods in small pot stills over charcoal fires, giving it its characteristic profile characterized by subtle peat smoke and delicate salty notes.

Distillery/Bottler: The Yoichi Distillery was founded in 1934 and is located near the Sea of Japan. This location allows for the characteristic salty sea air, which is reflected in the whisky. Nikka, founded by Masataka Taketsuru, a pioneer of Japanese whisky production, pursues a philosophy of combining traditional Scottish production methods with local characteristics. In addition to Yoichi, Nikka also operates the Miyagikyo Distillery, which boasts a milder climate and steam-heated stills.
