Octomore 16.3 - 5 y.o. - Release 2025

Special features: The Octomore 16.3 is the most intense release of the 16th edition and impresses with a peat content of 189.5 ppm. This 5-year-old single malt was distilled from 100% Concerto barley from the Octomore Farm in Church Field, Islay, and matured in a combination of bourbon casks, Sauternes, and Pedro Ximénez sherry casks. Bottled at cask strength with 61.6% ABV. Like all Octomore releases, this whisky was neither chill-filtered nor colored to preserve its authentic character.

Tasting Notes:

• Nose: Blooming heather, intense campfire smoke, and a subtle spicy sweetness combine with hints of malt sugar, freshly baked bread, citrus zest, and green apples.
• Palate: Honey-sweet malt, roasted grains, and a distinct earthy depth. Followed by flavors of orchard fruits, citrus notes, and a touch of vanilla, accompanied by fine smoky and salty tones as well as heather, coconut, and gorse.
• Finish: Medium-length, with sweet barley malt, fine floral notes, and a present but rather gentle smokiness of campfire on the beach, refreshing citrus notes, and a hint of salty minerality.
