Ollitas Tequila Reposado - 100% Agave - Distillery Orendain

Volume: 0.7 litres | Alcohol content: 40% | Chill filtration: Yes | Colouring: No

Special Features:

Six months of maturation in medium-toasted American white oak casks shape Ollitas Reposado. This ageing adds oak and vanilla notes to its agave character and gives it a bright amber colour. The tequila is made from 100% blue agave and triple-distilled.

The bottling contains 0.7 litres at 40% alcohol and comes without gift packaging. This reposado can be enjoyed neat or in cocktails such as a Margarita.

Tasting Notes:

• Nose: Cooked agave, vanilla and wood lead the nose. Honey and various fruit notes round out the bouquet, with subtle touches of dry tobacco and gentle spice.
• Palate: Pineapple and orange peel meet cream and sweet caramel on the palate. Oak complements the creamy mouthfeel. The flavour combines sweetness with a slight bitterness.
• Finish: The long finish is warm and spicy, with wood and agave remaining present.

Distillery/Bottler:

Destilería Orendain is based in the town of Tequila in the Mexican state of Jalisco. Founded in 1926, the family-owned company is one of the long-established independent tequila producers. Its La Mexicana distillery opened to visitors in 2015 and has offered insights into production ever since.

At Orendain, agave hearts are slowly steam-cooked in masonry ovens. Roller mills then crush the cooked agave and press it five times. The extracted juices ferment with proprietary yeasts in stainless steel vessels. Within the range, Ollitas stands out for its additional, third distillation.
