A finish in first-fill Amontillado sherry hogsheads shapes this fourteen-year-old Island bottling from Signatory Vintage 100 Proof Edition #58. The whisky in this small-batch bottling was distilled in 2011 and bottled in 2025 at 57.1%, equivalent to 100 British proof. It contains no added colouring and was not chill-filtered.

The Amontillado finish complements the maritime freshness and delicate smoke with nutty, fruity and spicy sherry notes without obscuring the Island character. The result remains balanced between malty sweetness, saline freshness and dry, spicy cask influence.

Distillery/Bottler:

Andrew Symington founded Signatory Vintage with his brother in 1988. After purchasing Edradour Distillery in 2002, the company had transferred all its operations to the distillery’s site in Pitlochry by 2007. As an independent bottler, Signatory Vintage focuses on selected casks and transparently presented bottlings.

The distillery’s name is not written out on this bottling; it appears as Orkney (HP) and was bottled by Signatory Vintage. The bottler released it as Edition #58 of its 100 Proof series, finished in first-fill Amontillado sherry hogsheads.
