Special Features:

Pampero Añejo Especial brings together light rum distillates and maturation in American white oak. The blend combines rums from casks that previously held bourbon or Scotch. Its light base makes it versatile in cocktails without losing its fruity and woody notes.

Vanilla, caramel and sweet fruit form the core of its aromatic character. Golden to amber in colour, this rum bears the Ron de Venezuela designation of origin and is bottled at 40% alcohol in a bottle containing 0.7 litres without gift packaging.

Tasting Notes:

• Nose: Ripe plums mingle with soft toffee on the nose. A delicate cream note complements the aromas.
• Palate: The rum is light-bodied on the palate. Ripe banana and roasted hazelnuts meet a gentle caramel sweetness.
• Finish: The medium-length finish reveals delicate peppery spice and subtle, dry oak notes.

Distillery/Bottler:

Pampero was founded in Caracas in 1938. Alejandro Hernández was one of the house's defining figures, and its history is closely linked to the recognition of aged rum in Venezuela: Pampero was the country's first rum to receive the Añejo designation. The rider on the label depicts a Llanero, a cowboy from the Venezuelan plains.

When blending its rums, the house works with reserves of different ages and casks with different previous contents. Especial focuses on light distillates and former bourbon and Scotch casks; Pampero also uses former sherry casks for other bottlings. The rum for this international Especial bottling is produced in Venezuela and bottled by Doi S.p.A. in Italy.
