Special features: Penderyn Legend is a single malt whisky from the Penderyn Distillery in Wales and part of the Dragon Range. This series is dedicated to the Welsh dragon, a significant symbol of Welsh identity that is deeply rooted in the history of the country. Penderyn Legend is bottled in 0.7-liter bottles with an alcohol content of 40%. A characteristic feature is the Madeira finish, which gives the whisky a fruit-forward style. The whisky is not chill-filtered and contains no coloring.
Tasting Notes:
- Nose: The bouquet reveals crisp green apples and limes, complemented by creamy caramel and sweet raisins.
- Palate: On the palate, juicy tropical fruits and creamy vanilla emerge, accompanied by a warm, sweet depth of sultanas.
- Finish: The finish is long and fruity, with aromas of dark raisins and vanilla.
Distillery/Bottler: The Penderyn Distillery is the producer and bottler of Penderyn Legend. The distillery launched the Dragon Range in 2015 and has developed it further with modern equipment. Penderyn Legend is initially aged in classic ex-bourbon casks before receiving a finish in selected Madeira wine casks. This special maturation influences the character of the whisky and makes it a fruit-forward representative of the Dragon Range.
