Special features: A blended whisky with an unusual finish of around three months in Sauternes casks, resulting in impressive color and complexity. Uncolored and non-chill-filtered, this whisky offers authentic character. The 2016 bottling is part of a limited edition and was blended by Master Distiller John McDougall.

Tasting Notes:

• Nose: Delicate vanilla notes along with a hint of coconut, complemented by fruity apricots and pineapple, underpinned by spicy wood notes as well as cinnamon and ginger in the background.
• Palate: Sweet and fruity with creamy vanilla and juicy yellow fruits such as apricot and peach, interwoven with warming oak spice, ground black pepper and caramelized ginger – rich and intense.
• Finish: Medium-long, slightly warming and delicately spicy with hints of pepper and cloves. Lingering vanilla and apricot aromas lead to dry oak notes.

Distillery/Bottler: Pier 1 was conceived by Moon Harbour in Bordeaux, a house specializing in unique whiskies with French influences. The base is formed by Scottish malt whiskies from the Highlands and grain whiskies from the Lowlands, masterfully blended by Master Distiller John McDougall. The finish in French Sauternes casks lends the blend a special refinement and underscores the spirit's international connections.
