A finish in former rum barrels gives this ten-year-old Canadian blend its distinctive character: oak-cask maturation is complemented by sweet notes of molasses and vanilla. The whisky is bottled at 42% and comes in a bottle containing 0.7 litres.

Its maturation is closely linked to Ontario's seasons. The oak casks are stored without artificial climate control, exposing them to the pronounced differences between hot summers and cold winters. These changing conditions shape the interaction between wood and whisky, influencing its character. Maturation in oak casks is followed by a finish in rum barrels.

Tasting Notes:

• Nose: Golden raisins and brown sugar lead the nose. Subtle notes of dried orange peel, green apple and vanilla complete the aroma.
• Palate: On the palate, sweet toffee with a honeycomb character combines with molasses and vanilla. Lingering rye spice accompanies the sweet notes.
• Finish: The finish is warming and smooth.

Corby works closely with Hiram Walker & Sons Ltd. in Windsor, where most Corby-owned brands are blended and bottled. The distillery is located in the Walkerville district on the Detroit River. Hiram Walker founded Walkerville in 1890 and, as his business grew, had schools and other facilities built for the emerging community.
