Special features: The Planteray Black Cask combines rums from Barbados and Trinidad and is produced by the West Indies Rum Distillery. This blend initially matures for several years in American oak barrels before being transferred to heavily toasted Ferrand barrels in France. The bottling is done in a natural color and has an alcohol content of 40%.
Tasting Notes:
- Nose: The nose reveals vibrant notes of honey, apple blossoms, cooked bananas, lime peel, and vanilla. Accompanying aromas of coconut, roasted coffee, and almonds round out the profile.
- Palate: The palate is round and fruity with a harmonious connection of molasses and candied raspberries.
- Finish: The finish is full-bodied and persistent, with notes of coffee, coconut, nutmeg, cinnamon, raisins, and plums coming through.

Maison Ferrand acquired the West Indies Rum Distillery in 2017, strengthening their control over rum production.
