Rampur Single Malt Double Cask

Volume: 0.7 litres | Alcohol content: 45% | Chill filtration: No | Colouring: No

Special Features:

Rampur Double Cask is created by marrying single malt matured in hand-selected American bourbon casks and European oak casks seasoned with sherry. The two cask profiles unite balsamic vanilla and caramel with dark dried fruit and spices, complemented by tropical fruit, malt, sherry and oak. The interplay between the two cask profiles gives the whisky additional depth of flavour.

At the foot of the Himalayas, pronounced seasonal temperature differences shape the maturation conditions and contribute to the whisky’s depth. The whisky is bottled at 45%, is non-chill-filtered and contains no added colouring.

Tasting Notes:

• Nose: The nose offers a full expression of tropical fruit, gentle malt notes and oak from the two types of cask.
• Palate: On the palate, sweet fruit combines with rich sherry notes.
• Finish: The finish is long and lingering.

Distillery/Bottler:

Rampur Distillery in Uttar Pradesh was founded in 1943 and belongs to Radico Khaitan. It uses traditional copper pot stills. Master Blender Anup Barik, who comes from a family of blenders, shapes the composition of Rampur single malts and brings together the bourbon- and sherry-cask parcels for Double Cask.
