Rampur Single Malt Double Cask
Special features: The Rampur Single Malt Double Cask is produced by the Rampur Distillery in India, which was founded in 1943 and is located at the foot of the Himalayas. Traditional copper pot stills are used for distillation. The whisky matures in a combination of American bourbon barrels and European oak sherry casks, which harmoniously brings out the flavors. It is not smoky and offers a balanced aroma characterized by vanilla and dried fruits.
Tasting Notes:
- Nose: Tropical fruits unfold on the nose.
- Palate: Tropical fruits are also present on the palate.
- Finish: The finish is sweet and spicy, which complements the fruitiness perfectly.
Distillery/Bottler: The Rampur Distillery is distinguished by its use of 100% malted barley and careful maturation in selected casks. Radico Khaitan is the producer of this whisky. By combining traditional methods with modern accents, the distillery allows for a nuanced flavor development. The maturation in bourbon and sherry casks gives the Rampur Single Malt Double Cask its characteristic depth and complexity.
