These whiskeys are produced by the Midleton Distillery in County Cork, Ireland, and follow a production process that uses both malted and unmalted barley. They are available in an attractive gift packaging and are characterized by a non-smoky character. The alcohol content is 44%, and all bottlings are included in the Lustau Edition.
Tasting Notes:
- Nose: The nose reveals a rich blend of dark fruits, plums, dates, and figs, accompanied by hints of licorice, marzipan, toasted oak, and aromatic spices.
- Palate: On the palate, the whiskey is silky smooth, with bold spices balanced by the richness of the sherry finish and the contribution of fresh Spanish oak.
- Finish: The finish is endless, with sweet notes and various spices lingering, and Oloroso sherry along with Spanish oak having the final word.
Distillery/Bottler: The Redbreast brand is produced by the Midleton Distillery in County Cork, Ireland. The distillery uses traditional methods, such as the mash bill of malted and unmalted barley and triple distillation in copper pot stills. These processes contribute to the development of the characteristic flavors. For the Lustau Edition, hand-selected sherry casks are used, giving the whiskeys a special character.
