Remi Landier Cognac - Tres Vieux Fins Bois L72-73 - Journal des Kirsch

Special features: This rare blend combines two vintages (1972 and 1973) from the Fins Bois terroir, which matured separately in 450-liter Allier and Limousin oak barrels. The cuvée then rested in a dry cellar before being transferred to glass carboys in 2012 to preserve its characteristic "old-bottle flavor." The cognac was bottled at natural cask strength of 52.5% ABV, neither coloring nor chill-filtering. This edition is limited to 150 bottles and is part of the exclusive "Journal des Kirsch" series.

Tasting Notes:

  • Nose: Lively tropical notes meet a fine minerality, accompanied by nuances of ripe fruit and subtle spices.
  • Palate: Velvety with coconut, nougat and light spice, characterized by an elegant wood character from the Allier and Limousin oak.
  • Finish: Long-lasting, warm and complex with a pleasant balance of power and delicacy.

Distillery/Bottler: The Rémi Landier Distillery boasts a centuries-old heritage, dating back to the Benedictine monks of the Royal Abbey of Bassac. Since 1973, Rémi Landier has been producing finely balanced cognacs of elegant yet powerful character. The house's philosophy is based on traditional craftsmanship and the preservation of authentic flavors, which is reflected in every bottle.
