Special Features:

Double distillation and two stages of wood maturation define Bielle Ambré Premium. Fresh sugarcane juice is distilled first in a Creole column still and then in a Charentais-style pot still to make this rhum agricole. The rum then matures first in new oak casks and subsequently in small wooden vats.

Maturation in new wood, together with double distillation, contributes to an aromatic interplay reminiscent of warm brioche followed by vanilla. The rum shows copper highlights in the glass. Bielle produces it on Marie-Galante and bottles it there at 45% alcohol in 0.7-litre bottles.

Tasting Notes:

• Nose: Fresh wood notes mingle with spicy accents on the nose.
• Palate: Toasted almonds meet new wood and vanilla on the palate.
• Finish: The finish is soft and rounded, with a sweetish impression.

Distillery/Bottler:

Distillerie Bielle is located on Marie-Galante in Guadeloupe and has been producing rum since 1910. Sugarcane shapes the island's agriculture and also underpins its rhum agricole tradition. At Bielle, freshly hand-cut sugarcane is pressed to extract the juice known as vesou. This juice is used to make rum, which is either bottled as white rum or placed in wooden casks to mature.
