Description

River Antoine Estate is located on the paradisiacal northeast coast of Grenada. Founded in 1785, the distillery produces one of the Caribbean's most legendary rums: Rivers. Produced in very limited quantities using traditional, natural methods, this white rum was sold only on the Caribbean island itself and was not available for export. Until recently, La Maison and Velier are now bringing this rare rum to fans in Europe. We have secured supplies for Kirsch Import customers.

River Antoine Estate cultivates its own sugarcane organically on 15 hectares near the Atlantic Ocean. Harvested by hand, the sweet grass is crushed using an antique watermill. The reason: Production runs entirely without electricity. Only around 3,000 liters of fresh sugarcane juice can be processed daily. River Antoine Estate is the only distillery in the world to concentrate the juice in metal pans over an open fire. After spontaneous, wild fermentation and distillation in John Dore double twisted pot stills, the rich rum is bottled slightly diluted at 75% ABV. A "light" version with 69% ABV is available for export.
