Fresh molasses is the base for this white rum from Réunion. Traditional Blanc belongs to the Master Legend edition and combines a crystal-clear appearance with a soft, fruit-led flavour. Exotic fruits shape the palate, with sweetness and fruitiness in balance.

At 40% alcohol, it provides a base for cocktails such as the Mojito, but can also be enjoyed on its own over ice. The bottle contains 0.7 litres.

Tasting Notes:

• Nose: The nose is gentle and soft, with fresh, delicate fruit notes.
• Palate: Exotic fruits emerge on the palate. The mouthfeel is soft and supple, and the flavour is balanced.
• Finish: The rum has a long finish that remains soft and delicate.

Distillery/Bottler:

Founded in 1886, the Rivière du Mât distillery is located in Saint-Benoît on Réunion’s east coast. For its traditional rums, it uses molasses from sugar cane grown on the island and water from its eastern river basins. Its name comes from a local legend: the mast of a stranded ship is said to have remained visible in a riverbed for a long time.

Fermentation takes place in open vessels. The distillery team then controls distillation in a column with multiple plates to shape the aromatic composition of the different rums.

The distillery also recovers value from its production residues. Anaerobic digestion converts them into biogas for steam generation. The fertilising nutrients recovered in the process are used on sugar cane fields, replacing imported chemical fertilisers.
