Special features: This small-batch release combines traditional production methods with modern quality standards. The company Romero & Sons works with decades of experience, focusing on the combination of molasses, sugarcane juice, and sugarcane honey, completely avoiding chill filtration and colorings. Maturation and bottling take place at nearly 3,000 meters above sea level, contributing to the rum's pronounced complexity. The limited release includes only 1,200 bottles.

Tasting Notes:

  • Nose: Multi-layered aromas of aged sugarcane, honey, and a hint of oak; light notes of dried fruits and spices.
  • Palate: Full-bodied and warm with hints of molasses, vanilla, and cocoa, rounded off by a subtle sweetness from the sugarcane honey.
  • Finish: Pleasantly long and smooth with spicy, woody nuances and a fine echo of orange and cinnamon.

Distillery/Bottler: The traditional family business Romero & Sons is based on the craftsmanship of Alfonso Romero, who established Ecuador's first craft distillery in Quito in 1906. Today, his grandchildren Johan and Ivanova continue the distillery with great care and respect for tradition. By combining old methods and using local raw materials such as sugarcane honey, they create unadulterated and intense rums that stylishly reflect the uniqueness of Ecuador.
