A First Fill Sherry Butt shapes this bottling from the Connoisseurs Choice range. Distilled at Royal Brackla in 2011, the Single Malt matured for fifteen years in cask number 5519. Gordon & MacPhail bottled it on 5 August 2026 at a cask strength of 56.5%; the cask yielded 509 bottles. The bottling belongs to batch 26/025.

The pronounced sherry influence combines with fruity and spicy impressions. Red apple and citrus peel sit alongside ginger. Christmas spice notes give way to blueberry and freshly crushed black pepper. The whisky is non-chill filtered and contains no added colouring. The 0.7-litre bottle comes in gift packaging.

Tasting Notes:

• Nose: On the nose, red apple and ginger combine with orange peel.
• Palate: On the palate, sweet forest fruits and Demerara sugar combine with black pepper. The whisky feels full-bodied, accompanied by spicy depth.
• Finish: The full finish leaves lingering sweet forest fruits and Demerara sugar.

Distillery/Bottler:

Royal Brackla lies east of Inverness in the Scottish Highlands. Captain William Fraser founded the distillery in 1812. It was the first Scottish distillery granted the right to use the designation Royal: King William IV appreciated its whisky, which was known for a time as The King's Own Whisky. During the refurbishment in 1966, the distillery stopped using its own floor maltings, and the number of stills increased from two to four.

Gordon & MacPhail is responsible for maturation and bottling. This family business, active in Elgin since 1895, matches its own casks, made to its specifications, to spirits from various Scottish distilleries. George Urquhart created the Connoisseurs Choice range in 1968 to make Single Malts available that were then used predominantly in blends. Its changing selection of single-cask and small-batch bottlings presents each distillery's character through different maturations.
