Special Features:

For A Silent Pursuit, the Royal Brackla was finished in a first-fill Oloroso sherry hogshead. The whisky was distilled on 16 September 2015 and bottled from cask 304250 on 3 April 2025. This nine-year-old single-cask release comprises 303 bottles at 53.5% ABV and belongs to the comic-inspired The WhiskyHeroes series. It is not chill-filtered and contains no added colouring.

The Oloroso finish brings together dark berries and blackcurrants with brown sugar, caramel and toasted hazelnuts. Nutty sherry notes and light cask spice accompany the fruit and sweetness, while the whisky feels creamy on the palate. Its cask strength lends further weight to the fruity, nutty profile.

Tasting Notes:

• Nose: On the nose, brown sugar and blackcurrants mingle with toasted hazelnuts. Raisins and other dried fruits, red berries, toffee, vanilla and spicy oak follow, with a touch of floral freshness.
• Palate: The whisky feels creamy and full-bodied on the palate. Caramel and dark berries meet nutty sherry notes, a delicate toasted note and light sherry spice.
• Finish: The medium-to-long finish remains soft, nutty and slightly dry. Gentle sweetness, berries and caramel accompany lingering spicy oak and dried fruits. A hint of toasted wood and cocoa emerges.

Distillery/Bottler:

Royal Brackla stands on the Cawdor Estate in the Scottish Highlands. Captain William Fraser founded the distillery in 1812; in 1833, it became the first Scottish whisky distillery to receive a Royal Warrant from King William IV. Today, the distillery is also known for its sherry-cask finishes.

Brave New Spirits is the independent bottler of A Silent Pursuit. For The WhiskyHeroes, the company selects Scottish single casks and small batches and presents them through distinctive comic-inspired characters. This release bears the name Highland Huntress: A Silent Pursuit.
