Special Features:

Rosie's Garden Gin brings together juniper, fruit and flowers from Rosie's walled garden. Its namesake and inspiration is the mother of co-founder Fiona Boyd-Armstrong. Strawberries, raspberries, lavender and chamomile are among the defining ingredients of this gin, introduced in 2019.

The lavender and chamomile lend their aromas through vapour infusion, using the botanical basket in the distillery's copper still. This captures their delicate floral aromas without allowing the other ingredients to overwhelm them. Despite its berry-led style, this pink gin retains a distinctly juniper-forward character. No sugar or sweeteners are added.

The gin won Double Gold at the San Francisco World Spirits Competition in 2020. Serve it with tonic water or Sicilian lemonade; a twist of lemon zest complements its fruity, floral character.

Tasting Notes:

• Nose: Juniper leads on the nose, joined by fresh pine notes and summer fruits, with delicate hints of lavender and chamomile.
• Palate: On the palate, the sweetness of strawberries combines with the tart fruitiness of raspberries to create a pronounced berry flavour.
• Finish: Floral aromas come to the fore on the finish.

Distillery/Bottler:

Fiona and David Boyd-Armstrong founded Rademon Estate Distillery in 2012 on their historic family estate in County Down, Northern Ireland. The estate's gardens and woodland provide inspiration and ingredients for their gins. The brand name Shortcross refers to the nearby village of Crossgar and the meaning of its Irish name, “short cross”. The bottles are filled by hand and sealed with wax.

In early 2018, the distillery expanded its original equipment with a 1071-litre copper still and two rectifying columns, each with ten plates. Its Carterhead botanical basket allows delicate botanicals to be vapour-infused. Rosie's Garden Gin was the first spirit developed exclusively on this new equipment.
