Sild Crannog Single Malt
Special features: The Sild Crannog Single Malt is a limited edition made from malted barley and spring water from the island of Sylt. After distillation at the renowned Lantenhammer distillery, the whisky matures in small wooden casks on the historic cutter "Gret Palucca" in the harbor of List. This unique storage at sea is subject to the movements of the waves and the rough North Sea climate, giving the whisky a distinctive aroma.
Tasting Notes:
- Nose: A smoky scent with subtle vanilla notes, accompanied by malty aromas and a hint of iodine, seaweed, and white pepper.
- Palate: A unique aroma of sea breeze and salt, combined with a slightly malty and bitter-sweet note.
- Finish: A long-lasting, pleasantly peaty and complex aftertaste.
Distillery/Bottler: The Sylt Distillery GmbH, founded by Anton Stetter and Alexander Sievers, is known for its innovative whisky creations. In collaboration with the traditional distillery Lantenhammer from Bavaria, unique single malts are created here that reflect the characteristics of the island of Sylt.
