This twelve-year-old Speyside single malt is matured in casks seasoned with either PX or Oloroso sherry, as well as refill bourbon barrels.

An official bottling from The Singleton range, it is bottled at 40% and comes in gift packaging.

Tasting Notes:

• Nose: The nose reveals polished wood, roasted hazelnut, baked apple, date, brown sugar and vanilla, complemented by soft notes of leather and sandalwood.
• Palate: The palate is nutty and fruity, accompanied by brown sugar, espresso and a hint of honey.
• Finish: The finish is medium in length, dry and clean, as well as sweet and nutty.

Distillery/Bottler:

Dufftown Distillery was established in 1895/96, when blender Peter Mackenzie, together with Richard Stackpole and John Symon, converted former mill buildings into a distillery. Whisky has been distilled there since 1896. To this day, the distillery draws its water from Jock’s Well, an artesian spring above Dufftown.

The Singleton brand brings together single malts from the Dufftown, Glen Ord and Glendullan distilleries; this twelve-year-old official bottling comes from Dufftown. Its production approach includes a 75-hour fermentation and slow, gentle distillation. American and European oak casks then shape the maturation—specifically, refill bourbon barrels and casks seasoned with either PX or Oloroso sherry for this bottling.
