New American white oak shapes SLYRS Malt Whisky, bringing out vanilla, malt and caramel notes. This composition brings together several whiskies distilled from barley. Extensive tasting guides the selection and balancing of whiskies matured in different ways.

At 40% alcohol, this malt combines a soft mouthfeel with fruity sweetness and a spicy, mineral finish. The bottle contains 0.7 litres. Serving it neat at room temperature is a particularly good way to explore its character.

• Palate: The whisky is soft and gentle on the palate. Fruity, honeyed sweetness combines with malt and a subtle vanilla note.

Distillery/Bottler:

The story of SLYRS began with a trip to Scotland in 1994 by brewer and master distiller Florian Stetter. It inspired the idea of making whisky in Upper Bavaria. The first SLYRS Single Malt was distilled in 1999, and the first bottles went on sale in 2002. Since 2007, SLYRS has had its own whisky distillery in Neuhaus am Schliersee.

The distillery uses slow, temperature-controlled fermentation and gentle distillation. Hans Kemenater helped establish the distillery in Neuhaus and personally trained its distilling team. For the Malt Whisky, particular emphasis is placed on bringing together the various matured whiskies: cask selection and sensory balancing determine the character of the composition.
