SLYRS grew from brewer and master distiller Florian Stetter’s idea of making whisky at Lake Schliersee. The first SLYRS whisky was distilled in 1999; since 2007, the company has operated its own whisky distillery in Neuhaus am Schliersee.
For its whisky production, the distillery uses two-row spring barley from the Munich area and water from the Bannwald spring. Fermentation takes several days and uses its own whisky yeasts. The spirit is then distilled slowly in copper stills. The Malt Whisky in this set matures in new American white oak casks and is bottled by SLYRS itself.
