Special Features:

New American white oak casks shape SLYRS Single Malt Classic. This Upper Bavarian whisky combines vanilla, malt and caramel aromas with a mild character. Regional raw materials and gentle production methods form the basis of this official bottling. The compact bottle contains 0.35 litres at an alcohol content of 43%.

Fruity and nutty impressions complement the sweet, malty foundation, while spicy cinnamon shapes the finish. A subtle smoky note also forms part of the Classic's character.

Tasting Notes:

• Nose: The nose is intense and complex, combining apricot and orange peel with aromas of fresh ginger and caramel.
• Palate: On the palate, the whisky has an elegant structure and noticeable sweetness, accompanied by marzipan and walnut flavours.
• Finish: The finish is long and intense, with spicy cinnamon notes shaping the lingering flavours.

Distillery/Bottler:

The SLYRS distillery is located in Neuhaus on Lake Schliersee. Its history began with Florian Stetter's trip to Scotland in 1994, which inspired him to create a whisky from his Upper Bavarian homeland. The first SLYRS Single Malt was distilled at Lantenhammer in 1999; the company's own distillery opened in Neuhaus in 2007. Hans Kemenater was involved in this development from his apprenticeship at Lantenhammer onwards and oversaw the establishment of the new site.

For its single malt, the distillery uses Bavarian malted barley and mountain spring water from a spring at the foot of the Jägerkamp. Its production methods include slow, temperature-controlled fermentation and gentle distillation. For the Classic, the whisky then matures in new American white oak casks, which contribute to its vanilla and caramel notes.
