Special Features:

This single malt from Speyside Distillery was distilled on 1 August 2014 and matured for eight years in a refill hogshead. Master of Malt bottled it in March 2023 at 40%.

This single-cask release was limited to 298 bottles and has no added colouring or chill filtration.

Sourdough and buttery brioche create a pastry-like dimension, while peach, apricot and apple bring bright fruit. Barley, vanilla, shortbread and fudge lead into nutmeg and gentle oak.

Tasting Notes:

• Nose: The nose is bright and fruit-forward: crisp apple, apricot and peach mingle with vanilla cream, soft brioche and subtle oak spice.
• Palate: Sugared stone fruit and honeyed malt emerge on the palate. Glazed lemon cake, toasted coconut and a sweet oat biscuit note add further layers.
• Finish: In the gentle, lingering finish, orchard fruit and creamy vanilla mingle with mild oak warmth.

Distillery/Bottler:

Speyside Distillery stands at Tromie Mills near Kingussie on the River Tromie. The small distillery was created from a former barley mill and farmstead that were converted over approximately 25 years; distillation began there in December 1990. The entire production process takes place in a single building.

Master of Malt began in 1985 as an independent bottler and mail-order retailer specialising in single malts. For this whisky, the company independently bottled the contents of the individual refill hogshead.
