Special features: The name "Straw Boys" recalls an ancient Irish tradition in which masked figures wearing straw hats would attend uninvited weddings, dance, and bring the bride and groom luck. This poitín is distilled at the Connacht Distillery according to a traditional recipe using copper pot stills. The mash consists of malted barley, and the result is a clear, powerful 45% ABV raw spirit, which harks back to the history of Irish poitín, which was often distilled illegally.
