The Straw Boys are a tradition from the west of Ireland. At Irish weddings, figures dressed in straw masks appear late at night, dance with the bride and groom, receive drinks, and then disappear back into the night. This ancient tradition is said to bring the newlyweds luck. This seemingly wild and untamed spirit is also reflected in the idea behind the Straw Boys series from Connacht Distillery. The bottlings are intended to be unusual and appeal to connoisseurs' love of experimentation.

Aroma: intense fruit sweetness, orange zest and blossoms, dusty notes of a warm summer day during the grain harvest, soft spicy notes

Taste: fruity sweetness, orange zest, spicy notes, aging aromas of oak barrels in the background, silky on the tongue

Finish: Still fruity and softly spicy with sweet and peppery notes reminiscent of cubeb pepper. Later, the whiskey becomes somewhat oilier and reveals roasted aromas.
