Special features: The Tamdhu 12 Year Whisky is produced at the Tamdhu Distillery in Scotland, in the Speyside region. This bottling matures exclusively in Oloroso sherry casks, giving it intense aromas. With an alcohol content of 43%, this single malt shows very little smoke. The bottling comes in a gift packaging.
Tasting Notes:
- Nose: The nose is rich and balanced with aromas of cooled cinnamon rolls, candied oranges, and sultanas, accompanied by fresh oak. In the background, fine notes of mint are perceptible.
- Palate: The palate is soft with classic sherry notes. Additionally, fruity notes of banana and berry jam come through, complemented by butter cookies.
- Finish: The finish is pleasantly long and shows notes of dried fruits.
Distillery/Bottler: The Tamdhu Distillery was founded in 1897 and is located in the heart of the Speyside region in Scotland. It is known for the exclusive maturation of its whiskies in Oloroso sherry casks from Jerez, which gives a characteristic depth and complexity. After a brief closure in 2010, the distillery was taken over by Ian Macleod Distillers in 2012 and successfully revived.
