Special Features:

This twelve-year-old Speyside single malt is a single-cask bottling from 1st Fill Oloroso Sherry Butt number 5. The whisky was distilled on 24 June 2014, matured entirely in this cask and bottled on 21 July 2026. The release comprises 363 bottles.

Signatory Vintage bottled the whisky at its natural cask strength of 58.5%. It is neither chill-filtered nor coloured, allowing the character of the selected single cask to remain unchanged at the forefront.

Its overall character combines sweet banana and creamy hazelnut nougat with bitter chocolate, dried fruit and delicate baking spices.

Tasting Notes:

• Nose: Dark dried fruit unfolds on the nose, with raisins and plums. Caramel, spices and a delicate oak note accompany the fruit.
• Palate: The whisky is powerful and full-bodied on the palate. Sherry sweetness and warming spice meet chocolate and roasted nuts, while the texture is dense and oily.
• Finish: The finish is long, spicy and dry. Sherry, wood and a subtle dark sweetness linger.

Distillery/Bottler:

Tamdhu was founded on the River Spey in 1897, with its first cask shipment following in 1898. The distillery’s approach remains closely associated with Oloroso sherry wood: for its own bottlings, Tamdhu uses European and American oak casks prepared in Jerez. The 1st Fill Oloroso Sherry Butt used for this independent bottling therefore reflects a style of maturation that is particularly characteristic of Tamdhu.

The independent bottler Signatory Vintage was founded in 1988 by Andrew Symington and his brother. Its first bottling was a 1968 Glenlivet; Andrew Symington acquired Edradour Distillery in 2002, and by 2007 Signatory had moved its operations entirely to the distillery’s site in Pitlochry. With this Tamdhu, the bottler highlights the individual character of a single cask and specifies its number, the distillation and bottling dates, and the number of bottles produced.
