Incl. VAT plus shipping costs
Volume: 0.7 litres | Alcohol content: 57.9% | Not chill filtered | No colouring
Special Features:
This Tamnavulin was distilled in May 2013 and bottled in March 2026 after 12 years from four married refill PX octaves. Cask Series 027 comprises 290 bottles at a powerful 57.9%, with natural colour and no chill filtration. The combination of four octaves, precise maturation period and small outturn distinguishes this release clearly within the series.
Orange marmalade and toffee apple define the nose clearly. The palate becomes leaner and more precise: creamy red berry fruit stands alone at its centre, giving the high-strength release a soft, fruity middle. Chocolate and marzipan only emerge in the finish, joined by the distinctive impression of polished wood. The whisky therefore develops in three clearly separated steps, from bright sweetness through fruit to darker dessert depth.
Tasting Notes:
- Nose: Orange marmalade and toffee apple.
- Palate: Creamy red berry fruit.
- Finish: Chocolate and marzipan with an impression of polished wood.
Distillery/Bottler:
Tamnavulin Distillery produced the Speyside single malt. North Star Spirits married the four refill PX octaves and bottled them independently for Cask Series 027.
Tamnavulin was built in 1966 in the heart of Speyside on the site of a historic carding mill, whose old waterwheel remains part of the distillery emblem. The distillery is associated with a sweet, smooth and fruity style. For this Cask Series 027 release, North Star married four refill PX octaves into a parcel limited to 290 bottles.
