The Citrus Heart Edition puts grapefruit and rosemary at the centre of Tanqueray No. Ten. Pink and white grapefruit give it a fresh, sweetly juicy character, balanced by juniper and subtle woody herbal notes. The edition was first launched in international airport retail in 2020. It contains 45.3% alcohol and is available in a 1-litre bottle.

For this edition, master distiller Terry Fraser added pink grapefruit from Spain and rosemary to the recipe. During development trials, he had the distillation run slightly longer than for the classic No. Ten to explore the aromatic character of pink grapefruit and its interplay with rosemary leaves.

Alongside the ingredients that give the edition its name, the botanicals include juniper, coriander, angelica root, liquorice root, limes, oranges and chamomile flowers. For a gin and tonic, combine it with tonic water, a slice of grapefruit and a sprig of rosemary.

Tasting Notes:

• Nose: Fresh grapefruit and rosemary lead on the nose, ahead of tart, resinous juniper. Coriander adds spice, while delicate liquorice and earthy angelica notes remain in the background. The rosemary brings a slightly woody nuance.
• Palate: The opening is gently sweet and creamy. Juniper combines with fresh grapefruit and slightly woody rosemary. Further citrus notes, liquorice and angelica add to the flavour in the background.
• Finish: The long, refreshing finish brings a slight pungency alongside liquorice and grapefruit. Rosemary lingers.

Distillery/Bottler:

Charles Tanqueray began distilling in London's Bloomsbury district in 1830. While developing his London Dry Gin, he tested more than 300 recipe variations. Today, Tanqueray is produced at Cameronbridge Distillery in Fife, Scotland. The site uses water from boreholes along the River Leven, treated on site before use.

The distillation of whole citrus fruits plays a particular role in the No. Ten range. Its citrus heart is created in the copper still Tiny Ten. Master distiller Terry Fraser and his team developed the grapefruit and rosemary edition as a new interpretation of this citrus-led style.
