Teaninich 2010 - 14 y.o. - Margaux Cask Finish #721397 (Berry Bros & Rudd)

Special features: This 14-year-old Teaninich Single Malt was distilled in 2010 and initially matured in a hogshead cask before being transferred to a Margaux wine cask for additional aging. It was bottled in 2025 by Berry Bros & Rudd in a limited edition of 264 bottles. The whisky was not chillfiltered and contains no coloring, highlighting its natural quality.

Tasting Notes:

  • Nose: Inviting aromas of milk chocolate, almonds, and subtle red fruits.
  • Palate: Rich flavor notes of blackcurrant, plum, and damson, supported by the influences of the Margaux cask.
  • Finish: A long, warming aftertaste with lingering tannins and a subtle freshness.

Distillery/Bottler: The Teaninich Distillery, founded in 1817 in the northeast Highlands, is known for producing whiskies that are primarily used in Scottish blends. It is characterized by the use of a mash filter instead of a traditional mash tun, a method more common in brewing. Berry Bros & Rudd, the independent bottler of this whisky, is a historic company based in London, known for its careful selection and bottling of single cask whiskies.
