Special features: This limited edition was created from the collaboration between the Irish Teeling Distillery and the Belgian brewery Duvel Moortgat. The whiskey initially aged for six years in ex-bourbon barrels and then underwent a twelve-month finishing in oak barrels that had previously been filled with Duvel Belgian Golden Ale. This special barrel combination gives the whiskey a unique depth and complexity.
Tasting Notes:
- Nose: Fresh citrus notes, tropical fruits, and a hint of hops, underlined by honey and vanilla.
- Palate: Full-bodied and layered. A balance of juicy fruit notes, light herbs, and malty nuances rounded off by a touch of spices and fine hop bitterness.
- Finish: Long and pleasant with lingering aromas of candied oranges, toffee, and a subtle, bittersweet hop note.
