Special Features: The Islay Rum Geal is a Pure Single Rum produced by the Islay Rum Company, the first rum distillery on the Isle of Islay, Scotland. This distillery was founded in 2022 and uses traditional Caribbean distillation methods, including a special pot-still system with two stills. The rum is bottled without aging at an alcohol content of 45% vol. Fermentation takes place over a period of about four days using imported molasses, which forms the basis for its production.

Distillery/Bottler: The Islay Rum Company uses traditional Caribbean distillation methods for the production of its products and continuously experiments with different yeasts and fermentation methods. Their location is the renovated Hastie’s Old Lemonade Factory in Port Ellen, a unique environment for rum production. Currently, the aging of the rums predominantly takes place on the mainland, as the warehouse is not yet fully operational. The triple distillation creates characteristic flavor nuances that make the rum a unique experience.
