Special features: This Danish rye whisky was distilled in 2020 and bottled in 2025 by Elixir Distillers as part of "The Whisky Trail" series. It matured for four years in new American oak quarter casks and was released in a limited edition of 645 bottles. The whisky is not chill-filtered and contains no color additives.
Tasting Notes:
- Nose: Aromas of warm oak wood, vanilla, and malt, accompanied by fruity notes.
- Palate: Full-bodied and sweet with notes of cherry jam, subtle malt spice, oak, and spices, complemented by hints of ginger and toffee.
- Finish: Medium-long with lasting fruity sweetness.
Distillery/Bottler: The Thy Whisky Distillery is located on the estate of the Gyrup family in northwestern Denmark. As a single estate distillery, all production steps from growing the grain to malting, distillation, and bottling are carried out here. The distillery places great importance on organic farming and regenerative cultivation methods.
