Special features: This miniature whisky from the renowned Tomintoul Distillery showcases a distinctive peat character, created by the use of barley dried over peat fires. Aged in American oak barrels, it retains the characteristic sweet and fruity notes typical of Tomintoul, complemented by a subtle smokiness.
Tasting Notes:
- Nose: Sweet and smoky with aromas of campfire smoke, ginger cookies, coffee grounds, and smoked meat, accompanied by a delicate nettle freshness.
- Palate: Layers of hazelnuts, smoky bacon, and molasses syrup toffees, mixed with roasted oats, peat smoke, and sweet licorice, rounded off with hints of lemon peel.
- Finish: Nutty and smoky with notes of coffee cake, paprika, roasted pecans, and mild spices.
Distillery/Bottler: The Tomintoul Distillery, founded in 1964, is located in the Glenlivet Estate in the Scottish Speyside region. It is known for its smooth and balanced single malts, produced using pure spring water from the Ballantruan spring and traditional production methods.
