Allt Gleann Batch Strength closes the Allt Gleann chapter within The Legacy Series. This limited release presents Torabhaig's smoky, salty style without dilution: the whisky is bottled at 61.1%, with no reduction in alcohol strength.

The five-year-old single malt matures in a combination of 80% First Fill Bourbon Barrels and 20% refill whisky barrels previously used for whisky maturation. It is bottled without chill filtration or added colouring. Bold smoke and maritime salt notes meet malty sweetness, vanilla and spicy oak.

Tasting Notes:

• Nose: On the nose, campfire smoke and peat combine with vanilla, sweet oak spice and lemon zest. Hints of cigar box, malt and salt add to the aromas.
• Palate: Peat smoke, salt, malt and pronounced wood spice lead on the palate. Grain, paprika and green apple add to the flavour, while a hint of cedarwood and sawdust accompanies the glowing peat embers. Oily citrus notes, nuances of tropical fruit, vanilla biscuits and a medicinal undertone broaden the flavour profile.
• Finish: Oak spice lingers on the finish with a fiery tingle. Light floral notes and pome fruit accompany savoury peat smoke and sea salt.

Distillery/Bottler:

Torabhaig is located in Teangue on the Isle of Skye. An old farmstead was converted into a distillery during a four-year restoration and construction project. Torabhaig has produced single malt there since January 2017, making it the island's second whisky distillery.

The distillery is equipped with eight Douglas fir washbacks and two traditional copper pot stills made specifically for Torabhaig by Forsyths in Rothes. The fermented wort is distilled in two stages. Water comes from the Allt Breacach stream.
