Special Features:

Blueprint #03 shows how toasted American oak shapes Tormore’s fruity style. This ten-year-old single malt spent its entire maturation in these casks; the toasting was not a brief finishing stage. It adds caramel, roasted nuts, spice and darker toasted notes to the orchard fruit.

Toasted Barrel followed Cream Sherry #01 and Bourbon #02 as the third release in the Blueprint series, through which Elixir Distillers explored different maturation styles for Tormore. Blueprint #03 was bottled in 2025 at 48%, with a limited release of 1,500 bottles. The whisky is not chill-filtered and contains no added colouring.

Tasting Notes:

• Nose: Toasted marshmallows, honeyed pecans and vanilla fudge meet baked apple, cinnamon and freshly toasted oak. Toasted almonds and coconut, spiced pear and a hint of sweet meadow hay follow.
• Palate: The whisky feels silky on the palate. Caramel latte and malt biscuits mingle with ripe pear, toasted almonds and coconut, followed by nutmeg, dark chocolate and gentle oak spice. A subtle smoky note comes from the heavily toasted wood.
• Finish: The medium-length finish becomes slightly dry. Toffee, roasted hazelnut and spiced buttery biscuits linger alongside oak spice.

Distillery/Bottler:

Tormore Distillery stands in Speyside’s Cromdale Hills. Built in 1959 to make an elegant, fruit-led whisky, it produces a spirit marked by orchard fruit and a rich nuttiness. For many years, most of that spirit went into blends, with only occasional single malt releases.

Elixir Distillers acquired the distillery and brand in 2022. Production resumed in January 2023 under distillery manager Polly Logan. The Blueprint bottlings explored different cask profiles before Tormore introduced its new permanent single malt range in 2026. Blueprint #03 is an official distillery bottling.
