Special Features:

This Highland single malt is initially matured in first-fill ex-bourbon casks and subsequently finished in Sauternes casks. The number 225 in the product name refers to the 225-litre capacity of these casks.

Bottled at 43%, it combines citrus and tropical fruit with vanilla, oatmeal and a creamy texture on the finish.

Tasting Notes:

• Nose: The nose reveals nuances of lime, vanilla and oatmeal.
• Palate: On the palate, tropical pineapple meets lively orange peel.
• Finish: The finish is creamy.

Distillery/Bottler:

Tullibardine is located in Blackford, Perthshire, opposite the Ochil Hills. The history of the site can be traced back to a brewery where King James IV purchased beer in 1488. In 1947, William Delme-Evans recognised the potential of the mineral-rich water from nearby springs. Using the Danny Burn as the water source, he subsequently converted the brewery site into a whisky distillery.

After being closed from 1993 to 2003, Tullibardine was revived; since 2011, the distillery has belonged to the family-run French wine and spirits group Terroir Distillers. With the exception of malting, every stage of single malt production takes place on site. The facilities include ten washbacks, four copper stills, an on-site cooperage, maturation warehouses and a bottling line.
