The barley thrives in the hilly lowland fields of John Crowley, protected by ash and larch forests, and benefits from well-draining, clay-rich loam soils. The whisky matured in a combination of first-fill barrels made from American oak, new American oak barrels, barrels made from French premium oak, and Vin Doux Naturel barrels. It was bottled at a robust 50% alcohol by volume, without chill filtration and without colorants.
