West Cork Black Cask combines grain whiskey and malt whiskey to create a triple-distilled Blended Irish Whiskey with a five-year age statement. Heavily charred Level 5 bourbon casks shape its maturation and bring sweet vanilla and oak notes to the fore. This official bottling contains 0.2 litres, is bottled at 40% alcohol, is non-chill-filtered and contains colouring.
Pear and dried fruit provide fruity accents, while vanilla, caramel and malt form the sweet core. Grain, toasted oak and pepper offer a spicy counterpoint. Overall, the whiskey is considered non-smoky, with only a subtle hint of smoke in its aromatic profile.

At its site in Skibbereen, County Cork, West Cork Distillers brings together pot stills and column stills, maturation in its own warehouses and on-site bottling. The company was founded in 2003 by three childhood friends: John O’Connell, Denis McCarthy and Ger McCarthy. Black Cask is produced and bottled there as an official bottling.
