Special Features: The West Cork Maritime - Sherry Cask is an Irish single malt whisky bottled by West Cork Distillers in Ireland. It combines maturation in first-fill bourbon casks with subsequent refinement in hand-selected sherry casks from Bodegas Barón. This combination gives it appealing aromas and a rounded character. With an alcohol content of 46%, the whisky is not smoky and comes without chill filtration.
Tasting Notes:
- Nose: The nose reveals a bouquet of dried figs and ripe plums, combined with fruity, sweet, and spicy notes. Aromas of oak, sherry, nuts, dried fruits, vanilla, malt, and cherry round off the olfactory experience.
- Palate: On the palate, the whisky presents itself sweet and slightly spicy, accompanied by fruity accents. There are aromas of nuts, spices, malt, oak, as well as a fine smoky note.
- Finish: The finish is characterized by sherry, oak, and spices, complemented by notes of herbs, dark chocolate, grape, chili, and citrus fruits.
