Williamson 2011/2023 - 12 Years - #AM081 - Asta Morris Blended Malt Scotch Whisky - Scotland Islay

Special features: This limited release from Asta Morris presents the Blended Malt Scotch Whisky Williamson, named after Elizabeth Leitch “Bessie” Williamson, the last owner of the original distillery. After 12 years of maturation in a sherry cask, this whisky reveals a balanced interplay of phenolic peat smoke and maritime notes, typical of the Islay region. The cask number #AM081 refers to the careful selection of single casks. The bottling was done unadulterated without chill filtration and with natural coloring.

Tasting Notes:

  • Nose: Intense peat smoke, accompanied by salty, maritime nuances and a subtle sweetness
  • Palate: Dark fruit notes, light brown sugar, and nutty accents combine with the smoky base
  • Finish: Long-lasting, with persistent peat smoke and warm sherry aromas

Distillery/Bottler: Williamson was a distillery on Islay, whose history is closely linked to the Johnston family. Elizabeth Leitch “Bessie” Williamson, after whom this whisky is named, ran the distillery as one of the few women in the whisky industry of her time. Asta Morris, an independent bottler from the United Kingdom, specializes in carefully selected single cask bottlings and places great emphasis on transparency and quality.
