Hennessy V.S. combines maturation predominantly in new oak casks with a blend of selected eaux-de-vie. These matured grape spirits are blended to create the distinctive Very Special. Toasty and fruity impressions meet a creamy vanilla note.

Alongside the 0.7-litre bottle, this edition includes a Hennessy jigger in gift packaging. The Cognac has an alcohol content of 40%, and its bold character also lends itself to cocktails and simple mixed drinks. The packaging features an Apple Sidecar recipe with Cognac, sugar syrup, lemon juice and apple purée.

Tasting Notes:

• Nose: The Cognac initially reveals aromas of freshly toasted bread, toasted almonds and brown sugar. More subtle grape aromas then add to the nose.
• Palate: On the palate, it is aromatically intense and full-bodied. A creamy texture carries the vanilla notes.
• Finish: The finish is fresh and floral.

Distillery/Bottler:

Irish-born Richard Hennessy founded his trading house in Cognac in 1765. Its location on the Charente facilitated the shipment of casks and the development of international trading relationships. Since the early 19th century, the Fillioux family has been closely involved in blending the Cognacs. Renaud Fillioux de Gironde continues this work as the eighth-generation Master Blender.

The house uses Ugni Blanc grapes from the region for its Cognacs. The resulting wine is distilled twice in traditional copper Charentais stills; the heart of the second distillation is selected for maturation. The eaux-de-vie mature in monitored cellars whose differing humidity levels influence their development. The Master Blender and tasting committee assess samples daily and follow the selected grape spirits throughout maturation with regular tastings. This provides the foundation for creating the different blends.
